Fluxer is looking dicey for me today. I’ll start here and switch over there if I can connect.
hairylarry — 5/23/26, 9:55 PM
I’ve had no problems tonight.
ZDL — 5/23/26, 9:56 PM
You don’t have a massive, inconvenient ocean between you and Fluxer. 😉

This is hitting harder than usual.
Not on Fluxer, no. They don’t want to talk to me.

It’s typical web software: written by people who don’t understand that networks can be slow and unreliable. “Works for me connected directly to my 600Gigawatt uplink. Can’t understand why it doesn’t work for you.”
hairylarry — 5/23/26, 10:04 PM
The whole initial theory behind the internet was that networks can be slow and unreliable.
That’s why we use packets instead of pipes.
And that’s where plain text programs excell.
ZDL — 5/23/26, 10:05 PM
Yes, but that was when engineers were taught instead of trained.

This is Somewhere Off Jazz Street
ZDL — 5/23/26, 10:06 PM
(That’s how my SO puts it.)

I agree. I went to school for a broad understanding of the topic. Training is for on the job. In my case self training.
Bob Reynolds
I like the organ for a change in a jazz quartet
It gives the sax a lot of freedom

Sunna Gunnlaugs
I love her piano sound and she plays her own compositions.
hairylarry — 5/23/26, 10:28 PM
